Nancy-lynne Hughes When you love what you do and do what you love it never feels like ‘work’, says Hughes. She says she is living her dream. Nancy’s works predominantly in watercolor and acrylic but also enjoys other mediums. Her favorite subject is the local landscape; be that the intimate view of some wonderful flower, a flower garden, a bed of river rocks, or the vastness of the prairies around her. In addition to painting at her home studio Nancy has been teaching art at private teaching studios in Calgary for the past 25 years. Seventeen of those years have been at Swinton’s Art Supply & Instruction Ltd., where she offers nine “independent study” classes per week. Nancy offers workshops on a number of topics as well as painting holidays for artists.
Nancy’s works hang in collections in Norway, Sweden, Germany, Australia, United States and across Canada

Brenda Rahaus Since starting to paint a few years ago, I look at things entirely differently than I used to. Trite but true - nothing is the same as it was. Perhaps it's the painters' curse as well as blessing to never again see a flower as innocently as before, but as a myriad combination of colors and shapes. To make my interpretation believable and understandable is a constant challenge , fulfilling and frustrating at the same time. Starting to paint with acrylics has been a very humbling but rewarding experience, and I have again realized that you never stop learning.
Margaret Holland Born and raised in Calgary Alberta, Margaret's artistic journey began in 1994 and communicates her passion for life through the mediums of watercolour and chalk pastel. As an instructor, Margaret shares her knowledge by teaching such basics as composition, colour, value and design for all levels of experience. Building on this foundation, students are able to explore their own avenues of self expression. She is elated when her mentoring promotes a student's growth, and delights in sharing their experiences of "light bulb" moments: "Now I see", "I get it", "I did that".
